About Us

The Maryland Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agencies (MAHRA) is a Maryland state agency in the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO).  MAHRA is a professional membership organization comprised of housing and community development agencies and officials throughout the State of Maryland who administer a variety of affordable housing and community development programs at the local level.

The Maryland Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agencies (MAHRA) is a statewide organization who, since 1985, actively advocates for affordable housing and community development professionals.

MAHRA partners with the National Association for Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) to promote the local and national perspectives on affordable housing. Additionally, in order to successfully face today’s challenges, housing professionals receive technical training.

MAHRA supports their members with regular workshops where U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the State’s Department of Housing and Community Development, and industry leaders collaborate for trainings and dialogues.

What We Do

MAHRA works with its members and other organizations to provide leadership and to rally support for affordable housing.   In these efforts, MAHRA offers a structured forum to those administering HUD and State assisted housing programs, developers of affordable housing, and landlords in the industry that advances and actively promotes housing initiatives and current issues.

MAHRA also provides access to comprehensive professional development curricula and trainings to equip its members with the skills and knowledge to thrive in today’s affordable housing environment.
